  • These days, my focus has shifted from live performance toward chamber music composition.  I am presently working on a collection of classical guitar miniatures alongside a new string quartet.
  • In recent years, I've been delving deep into mathematics, systems architecture, AI, and software development as well as meditation and consciousness studies. What continues to fascinate me are the connections we can draw between these fields and the unexpected structures they share. Counterpoint, harmonic structures, graph theory, distributed systems, and abstract mathematics often utilize different instantiations of the same underlying patterns and viewing one discipline through the lens of another can completely change one's perspective. Perhaps becoming a more expansive artist requires stepping outside one's area of expertise and taking the risk of viewing the world through an entirely new lens. Amidst this entire personal journey, technology is rapidly changing the bounds of what is possible as well as obscuring that which is most essential and vital to our wellbeing. I'll be exploring more of these reflections in my blog and elsewhere.
  • I'm looking forward to sitting down with Paul Jasper for a discussion of artistic archetypes on his podcast 'Woodworking is Bullshit' podcast. Paul is an old college friend, so we have lots of personal history, and he is quite the individual in the biomedical science space who later found an artistic calling as an amazing woodworker crafting furniture, boxes and more. Check out some of his amazing work on his website and stay tuned for the episode to drop! https://www.copperpigwoodworking.com
